My Mom's Journey 2026

In late March, I received the news that my mom was diagnosed with a suspicous mass in her left breast.She went directly to the doctor since it started oozing out liquid. The doctor ordered for tests and is worried that it may be breast cancer and will need surgery as soon as possible.When we got the news, I was a wreck. I’ve always heard about how difficult this disease is, and I’ve prayed for others going through it, but the moment I learned it was my own mother, I couldn’t function.Since then, we’ve been going in and out of the hospital for tests and consultations. The doctor quoted us around PHP 800,000 for everything including surgery, tests, hospital stay, and doctor’s fees. I’ve been late to work multiple times and was even scolded despite it being an emergency, because at the end of the day, companies often see numbers before they see people. I was losing my mind, asking online was the last thing I wanted to do.We immediately applied for assistance through charity programs, DSWS, government aid, and also waited for her HMO renewal in May to help cover part of the costs.By God’s grace and through those efforts, we were able to get approved for charity support which reduced the estimated cost to around PHP 150,000.While this is a huge relief compared to the original amount, it is still a very heavy burden for our family.With a heavy heart, I opened up to my friends: BoricatVT, "Mister", TachimisVT, Oruvee, GrimAngelXx, and Flash "Blurryface".Thank you for helping keep my heart intact just by listening, staying, supporting me, and making plans on how to deal with this situation.Her surgery scheduled was confirmed, May 13. I posted the crowdfunding through Throne "[🌷] For Hope and Healing" and passed my bank details for IRL mutuals.

Success! They were able to collect all the mass and was sent to a specialty lab. Previous result could not identify the mass due to quantity.I had about a month to let the crowdfunding run before I withdraw it.Because of your generosity, prayers, shares, and support, we've raised around ₱65,844.11 of our ₱150,000 goal. 🎉

I've now done that and used the money to help pay down part of the debt and loans I took on for my mom's treatment, surgery, related medical expenses, and other miscellaneous (e.g food, gas, medicine, etc.) use related to her health.Around the end of May, radiation sessions were scheduled.

Luckily, we were able to photograph the place! She finished her set in September 2026.

The fundraiser is still ongoing because there is still a remaining balance to cover, but thanks to all of you, the situation feels much more manageable than it was initially.As always, my heartfelt gratitude goes to the second batch who extended their financial support to my mother’s health journey:
